More Space
Mirrors are often the secret behind the larger appearance of small bathrooms. With a mirror over the sink, you add depth to the space and make the bathroom seem bigger than it is. The bigger the mirror, the more dramatic the spacious effect.
More Light
Mirrors next to a light source reflect light and make it bounce back to the bathroom. The optical illusion and light reflection amplify the brightness of the space. As a result, your bathroom feels more open, spacious, and less cramped. If you have a bathroom window, place the mirror opposite the window to reflect more light.
Concealed Storage Space
If your bathroom is too small and lacks enough storage space, a mirrored cabinet is a perfect option. Your bathroom looks tidier with clutter like toothbrushes, toothpaste, and other toiletries behind closed cabinet doors.

Round Bathroom Mirrors
As the name suggests, round bathroom mirrors are circular in shape. They come in various sizes, from small handheld mirrors to large wall-mounted versions. Round mirrors are a good choice if you want to add a touch of softness to the room, as their curved lines can help to create an inviting and relaxing atmosphere.
Square Bathroom Mirrors
Square bathroom mirrors are, as you might guess, shaped like squares. They come in different sizes and can be hung on the wall or placed on a benchtop or shelf. Square mirrors tend to have a more modern look than other types of bathroom mirrors, making them ideal for contemporary bathrooms.
Frameless Bathroom Mirrors
Frameless bathroom mirrors are exactly what they sound like-mirrors without frames. These mirrors can be hung on the wall or placed on a surface, and they provide a clean and simple look that works well in both traditional and contemporary bathrooms.
Framed Bathroom Mirrors
Framed bathroom mirrors are another popular type of bathroom mirror. As you might expect, these mirrors come with frames, which can be made from wood, metal, or other materials. The frame helps to give the mirror a more finished look and can also be used to add visual interest to the room. There is sure to be a framed mirror that will complement your bathroom’s décor.
When choosing the size of your bathroom mirror, it is important to consider the following factors.
Vanity Width Considerations
The mirror should ideally be narrower than the vanity. Aim for a mirror that is at least 2 to 4 inches less in width than the vanity, ensuring it fits comfortably within the available wall space.
Height Recommendations
For the mirror's height, you want to allow for adequate clearance. A good rule of thumb is to position your mirror at least 4 to 6 inches below the ceiling or above any backsplash, maintaining proportion with the wall space.
Specific Size Guidance
● For Smaller Bathrooms: If you're working with a limited area, consider a mirror that covers a substantial portion of the space above your vanity but doesn't dominate the room.
● For Larger Spaces: Oversized mirrors should still respect the confines of the vanity and wall space.
General Size Ranges
● Small Bathrooms (under 50 sq ft): Opt for mirrors that are 24-30 inches wide.
● Medium Bathrooms (50-100 sq ft): A width range of 30-42 inches can be appropriate.
● Large Bathrooms (over 100 sq ft): Mirrors can range from 42-60 inches wide.
Metal - Metal frames are some of the most popular bathroom mirror frames and can make a great companion for the other metal features of your bathroom. It's important to choose materials that won't rust or dull due to the humidity in your bathroom; if you buy a bathroom mirror, you should be able to depend on their rust resistance but keep this issue in mind if placing a different mirror in your bathroom. Aluminium is one of the most popular options, being inexpensive, lightweight and rust resistant, however it can eventually corrode if not cared for.
Bronze doesn't rust at all, due to containing no iron, and is a great addition to rustic or warm coloured bathrooms, however its increased durability comes with added weight. If you do choose a bronze mirror, you'll need to take extra steps to fit it securely. Copper is similarly rust resistant but water exposure will eventually turn it green if not protected properly (you might have noticed this with old copper taps outside). Any of these metals can make a beautiful addition to your bathroom, as long as they are properly positioned and protected.
Acrylic - Acrylic is a strong, lightweight material that is now the most popular choice for finishing bathroom ceramics such as toilets and bathtubs. The same qualities that make it so widespread for ceramics are the reason why it's a popular choice for mirror frames. Acrylic can be manufactured into almost any shape and size and it can also be made in a huge variety of different colours, making it ideal for funky, modern mirrors. It also tends to be a lot cheaper than the majority of metal options, making it great for adding bold style on a budget.
Glass - Glass frames for glass mirrors might not seem like the most obvious choice but these are often some of the most visually striking pieces available. By colouring or mirroring the glass, or adding texture by making it opaque, these frames add a sense of style to the overall piece and look more seamless than those that use a different material. Glass framed mirrors are good choices for modern bathrooms, especially those with a minimalist aesthetic. Alternatively, blue tinted glass can be reminiscent of water and evokes a sense of the seaside, great for light, airy bathrooms.
Wood - Wooden frames may not be as common in bathrooms as they once were but this natural material is one of the most versatile available. Depending on the particular wood used, their finish and size, they can be suitable for traditional, modern or rustic bathrooms. As bathrooms are often full of colder surfaces such as ceramics and tiles, wood helps introduce a sense of natural warmth. A rougher surface is great for rustic, understated rooms, while a smooth, dark finish can form part of a bold, modern bathroom. The countless variety of different varnishes, paints and stains available mean that a wooden frame can be adapted for any style of bathroom.
Process of Bathroom Mirror
Bathroom mirrors are essential fixtures in our daily lives, providing both functionality and aesthetic appeal. The production of these mirrors involves a meticulous process that ensures clarity, durability, and a flawless reflective surface. Here's a detailed look at how bathroom mirrors are made:
Glass Selection and Cutting
The process begins with selecting high-quality glass sheets. Float glass is available in different grades, such as architectural grade, mirror-making grade, and automotive grade. we choose mirror-grade float glass. This float glass is then cut to the desired size and shape using an automatic cutting machine, often embedded with diamond dust to ensure clean and accurate cuts.
Polishing and Cleaning
Once cut, the glass edges are polished to remove any sharpness and to give a smooth finish. The glass surface is thoroughly cleaned to remove any dust, grease, or impurities that could affect the reflective coating.
Silvering Process
The core of mirror production is the silvering process. This involves coating the back of the glass with a reflective layer. Traditionally, this was done using a mixture of tin and mercury, but modern methods use a wet deposition technique. Here, a solution of silver nitrate is applied to the glass, which reacts chemically to form a thin layer of metallic silver.
Protective Coatings
To protect the delicate silver layer, a series of protective coatings are applied. Initially, a layer of copper was used, but contemporary methods favor copper-free coatings for environmental reasons. Multiple layers of paint follow these coatings to ensure durability and resistance to corrosion.
Quality Control and Inspection
After the coatings have dried, the mirrors undergo rigorous quality control checks. This includes inspecting for any distortions, scratches, or imperfections in the reflective surface. High-quality bathroom mirrors are designed to have minimal to no distortions, providing a clear and accurate reflection.
Final Touches and Packaging
The final step involves adding any additional features, such as beveled edges. The mirrors are then carefully packaged to prevent damage during transportation and are ready to be shipped to our customers.
Proper installation is key to maximizing mirror functionality and avoiding damage. Follow this guide for best results:
Gather screwdrivers, drill, level, measuring tape, stud finder, silicone adhesive, screw anchors, and mounting screws. For framed mirrors, have D-rings, picture hanging wire, and decorative hooks ready.
Determine placement on the wall and use stud finder to mark locations of studs.
Measure and mark height from floor and width on wall where mirror will be installed.
For frameless mirrors, apply silicone adhesive evenly across the back. For framed mirrors, install D-rings and picture wire on the back.
Lift the mirror in place against the wall and insert screws into marked stud points. For drywall, use anchors first before inserting screws.
Check level alignment and use wedges beneath the mirror for precise adjustment. Tighten all screws fully once positioned.
Allow silicone adhesive to fully cure for frameless mirrors before use - generally 24-48 hours time frame.
